The Department of Corporate Communications of the General Directorate of Railways of the Republic of Turkey made a statement regarding Adapazarı Express.
The explanation is as follows; âIt has been observed that some media outlets contain incomplete and incorrect information about the passenger trains running between Adapazarı and Pendik, known as the island train. Studies of the incident, which is in the news, were shared with the public in detail about a month ago, and the necessary information has been shared.
As the National Railways of the Republic of Turkey (TCDD), we continue to invest in infrastructure, superstructure and management to provide comfortable, safe and fast transportation for our citizens.
We present for your information the studies we have done on MithatpaÅa-Adapazarı and other lines in some newspapers;
Road renewal and infrastructure works have been completed between MithatpaÅa and Adapazarı. Since the catenary (electric wires) and the poles, which have been used for many years on this road, have ended their useful life, it has become necessary to replace them. As part of the work, 65 poles are renewed with 4,000 meters of wire. Due to these works, train services between MithatpaÅa and Adapazarı cannot be performed.
In this process, the transport of passengers is provided by buses with the protocol signed with the Municipality of Adapazarı in order to avoid any disruption in the transport of citizens.
The last stage of the works has been reached and passenger transport between MithatpaÅa and Adapazarı should start at the end of August, as explained previously.
The improvement of the rail service between Istanbul (Pendik) -MithatpaÅa is also implemented taking into account the demands of our passengers.
During the pandemic process, double trains from 20.03.2021 were operated between Pendik and MithatpaÅa, only on weekdays, from the 4. With the decrease in passenger demand, flights were reduced to 15.04.2021 mutual trains to from 2. However, from 01.06.2021, flights were also put into service on weekends. In response to citizen demand, 3 double trains started serving first, then 5 double trains started serving each other. The satisfaction and safety of passengers are our priority.
In order to ensure a comfortable and fast transport of our passengers, the construction of the 3rd railway line between Köseköy and Gebze continues. At the Kartepe / Büyükderbent stop, the temporary construction of the platform has been completed and put into operation. Thanks to the temporary platforms built in the stations of Derince, Hereke and Körfez, our travelers were able to join the trains.
As the Izmit / Kırkikievler and Körfez / Tütünçiftlik platforms remain on the high-speed line at the request of our passengers, the new platform works at Kırkikievler station will be completed and put into operation within a short period of time.
